Based on Lynn Thompson’s idea, a new fighting slingshot has been created: The stainless steel frame sports three spikes, two directed upwards and one directed downwoards.

This opens up entirely new fighting modes, especially when you have another weapon (knife, screwdriver…) in your other hand.

The video includes the upiquitous coconut test, recorded in slow motion.

The IWA is probably Europe’s most important annual weapons show. No hobbyists are allowed, except with a personal invitation by one of the exhibitors.

Cold Steel was kind enough to invite The Slingshot Channel to the show! Meet Lynn Thompson, founder and president of Cold Steel, see him receiving his Jörg Sprave Hammerhead slingshot in cast aluminum. Lynn then gives a personal demonstration of his fighting skills with two huge Bowie knifes.

All of the Zombie killing Cold Steel products are checked out at the booth.

Then, Jörg Sprave walks the showfloor, looking for other cool stuff. Large knifes, awesome crossbows and even a brand new arrow shooting air rifle from Sweden are presented in this slightly off topic video.

Pencil Launcher

A pencil can be very dangerous – when The Slingshot Channel builds a weapon around it!

The “Nerd Revenge 2000″ is a homemade pump action slingshot crossbow that can fire 10 razor sharp pencil in under five seconds. The “arrows” travel at an impressive 100 miles per hour, fast enough to go through a apple!

The compact weapon (24″ = 60cm) can also fire a “devilled” version if a pencil, with an achery field tip glued in. Then the once so harmless pencil is turned into a deadly projectile!

The design was inspired by the Chinese Repeating Crossbow, but the awkward repeating action has been replaced by the far better “pump gun” method.

This is probably the most fun slingshot ever demonstrated by The Slingshot Channel!

“One Piece” is the most successful Manga/Anime series ever – and one of its heroes, a guy called “Usopp” (aka. “Sogeking”) uses a weaon called a “Kabuto” – a slingshot with five bands, mounted on a long staff.

Now The Slingshot Channel has built the weapon for real! It is tested as a slingshot, a throwing spear and a as a stabbing weapon. And guess what, it even has anti Zombie qualities!

The outcome was surprisingly good – the designers at One Piece have really invented a cool and effective weapon. Well done!

As the first one of a series of videos taken at the East Coast Slingshot Tournament in Alverton/PA (April/May 2010), in this presentation Jörg Sprave interviews the world reknown expert Jack Koehler. Jack wrote a fantastic book about slingshots (presented in the video), and also he designed a target slingshot that is very unique. Made out of polished exotic wood and stainless steel, this braced slingshot is outfitted with fiber optic sights!

The slingshot is called “King Cat” and can be bought (where legal) for 88 US-$.

You can order the book at amazon (14.95 US-$), here:

Slingshot vs Helmet

Very strong bald German guy shoots with a deadly slingshot (heavy rubber tubes) at a motorcycle helmet. Incredibly big steel bullets are used. The video includes a slow motion of the dramatic effect. A ricochetting bullet still has enough power to smash a window, making the production involuntarily expensive…
